THE ANNUAL BORO DAY CELEBRATION IN BAYELSA STATE,THE NEEDS TO REFLECT THE DESIRES OF OUR LATE HERO INTELLECTUALLY AND NOT ILLICITLY.

The recent involvement of young intellects in the agitation of Self determination and resource control by any reasonable means in Ijaw Nation is commendable so far.

If this is to an extent ameliorated, than what will be our status and mentality in this year Boro day celebration?

May 16th is set aside for Ijaw Nation to celebrate our late hero who have fought gallantly for injustice, oppression and emancipation of the Ijaw people, Major Jasper Isaac Adaka Boro love and passion for Ijaw Nation cannot be overemphasized. That is why Ijaw people from all nooks and crannies used to come out that day to celebrate him.

Often times the way and manner we have celebrated our late hero is appalling, mortifying and prohibited.  Ijaw Youths used that medium to loot people's belongings, show their criminal and rascal attitude all in the name of celebrating our late hero.
What an embarrassment and unlawful behavior we are exhibiting?

Am calling on those in authorities to caution our Ijaw Youths  to be on  good conduct while celebrating our late Hero this year.

Government should if possible make that day public holiday in Bayelsa state, organise seminars were our Youths should be sensitize and oriented on some Youthful topics like, The importance of Education in contemporary society, the dangers of drug abuse, the needs to shun cultism and other social vices etc.

Let Boro day  be celebrated in more unique and respectful way and not the illicit manner.
