MAKE YOURSELF AVAIL TO GOVERNMENT'S EMPOWERMENT - OGEDE CHARGES YOUTHS


The Bayelsa State Vigilante Service has called on Bayelsans especially the youths to avail themselves with various government empowerments policies and programs to better their lots.

Chairman of the service, Evangelist Parkins Ogede, made the call while playing host to United Bomo-Ibe Youth (UBY) led by its President, Comrade Joseph Azawari who visited him in his office over the weekend in Yenagoa.

He said, Governor Seriake Dickson, in finding lasting solutions to the challenges confronting youths, has set up various platforms to cater for their needs, with a view of making them self reliance.

Evangelist Ogede, who commended Governor Dickson for putting adequate measures aimed at revamping the subsectors such as; economy, agriculture, education as well as human capacity development and called for its sustenance.

He, enjoined Bayelsans to work closely with government to reposition the state, warned youths to desist from acts inimical to the growth and development of society.

Assuring his visitors of his preparedness to fight crime, the vigilante boss solicits the cooperation of members of the public to report suspicious landlords, still harbouring criminal elements under the guise of tenants in the state.

Earlier, in his remarks, the President of the United Bomo-Ibe Youth, Comrade Joseph Azawari, who spoke on behalf of other members, thanked Governor Seriake Dickson for approving the appointment of Evangelist Parkins Ogede as Chairman of the state vigilante service.

Pledging his organization's willingness to assist government achieve set goals, Comrade Azawari applauded Evangelist Ogede for according him and his entourage a warm reception.
