DELEGATES TO VISIT THE  BEREAVED FAMILIES IN AMASSOMA ,TAKE RESPONSIBLITIES OF BURIALS ,NDU REOPEN SOON--GOV DICKSON


Following the unfortunate and avoidable destruction of public and private property, the breakdown of law and order, as well as the reported loss of lives in Amassoma, His Excellency, Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State  scheduled a meet with the  leadership of Amassoma Community such as the Ibenanaowei of Ogboin Kingdom HRM Oweipa Jones Ere ,the Amananaowei/Paramount Ruler of Amassoma HRH Graham Pele-ebimo Naingba and his  Council of Chiefs, Representative of Community Development Committee (CDC),a selected leaders of the community, including youths and women leaders today 25th May,2018. By 11am at the Governor's Conference Room.

The following are the highpoints and as well as the outcome of the meeting which are;

1. The Amassoma disturbance is sad, unfortunate but avoidable - Gov. Dickson.

2. Government delegation to visit bereaved families.

3. Government to pay the medical bills of injured victims and the burial expenses.

4. The  Amassoma youth leadership condemned the action of their youths that attacked the policemen.

5. The Amassoma youth leadership also condemned the use of live bullets by the police.

6. Govt promises to set up committee to examine the immediate and remote causes of the disturbance.

7. Another committee to be set up to promote peace and unity in the community.

8. Those detained by the police to be released.

9. NDU to be reopen soon.
