HON KETE OWOKO CONDEMN THE FRIVOLOUS ACT PERPETRATED BY SOME IMPORTED DISGRUNTLED ELEMENTS AT AMASSOMA DURING THE WEEK.

Hon Kate Owoko member Bayelsa State House of Assembly representing the good and great people of Southern-Ijaw Constituency 1, Strongly Condemns the frivolous act perpetrated by some imported disgruntled elements at Amassoma whom claimed to be a staff of Niger Delta University Wilberforce Island Bayelsa state during the week, to dehumanize and dent the image of our ever performing Governor His Henry Seriake Dickson. Hon Kate  Stressed that what happened at Amassoma was a conspiracy by just an Agitated few in a bid to discredit our amiable Governor.

She added that those who protested, where not true Sons and Daughters of Amassoma but where rather imported from states and that it was purely Politically motivated by oppositionist of the present Administration.

Hon Kate also urged the good people of Amassoma to go about their lawful routines. She went further to add that what is happening at the Niger Delta University (NDU) is purely an institutional and civil service  reform and it should not be seen as a personal and individuals issues that should warrant rented crowned  aimed at destroying the image
and the good legacies of the institution, the host community (Amassoma) and also the Governor of Bayelsa state.

The law maker further Stated that the Governor has done marvelously well in developing the university. Kate also added that before the Governor came to power, the university was totally abandoned which led him to putting up numerous structures,  including new academic blocks,
Staffs quarters, the ultra modern university Senate building as well as student hostels, Also, before now, only few academic programmes were being accredited, thus, most faculties were in an eminent danger of collapse. Programmes such as Medicine, Engineering, Law, Accountancy and other vital sciences and humanitarian programmes/ courses were not accredited. The present administration, ably led by His Excellency, Hon Henry Seriake Dickson, the Governor of Bayelsa state made it possible for these programmes to be accredited , thus giving the university the rightful image it deserves. So also, there are now internal road networks everywhere in campus and it's environ, this feat was achieved by the present administration.

Currently, the fencing of the compus is ongoing, due to several cases of external security threats in the past.  So also several other projects are ongoing that will be beneficial to both the institution and the host communities, Amassoma and Ogobiri Community among these projects
is the almost completed Cargo Airport, that was initially moved from Amassoma to another  location (OKordia Zarama Area)during the pasted Administration  but it was brought back to Amassoma through the Governor of Bayelsa state.

This goes to show his love for the people of Amassoma and NDU. My good people of Ogboin and Amassoma, I humbly and sincerely plead with you not to be misled and misguided by desperate and disgruntled few to destroy the already good reputations of the university which God has given to us, and also not to be instigated towards destroying the good image of our amiable Governor of our beloved state.
She further urged the good people of Amassoma to remain calm, and allow the Governor to continue his good works and correct the error in the system for a better and revolutionized Bayelsa State for posterity sake.
