It's no longer news any more that, we Niger Deltans crying for recognition and our pride of place in the National setting are most times marginalising our own brothers and sister either due to population size or other benefiting factors.
Today history has it that, a minority state not just in the country but also in the Niger Delta like Bayelsa State was privileged to produce the President of the federal republic of Nigeria. The question is, if it were to be by population strength would we have produced the president of our Nation?
Everyday our agitations as Niger Deltans continue to linger on against oppression and marginalization, yet we are marginalizing our own blood, friends, brothers and constituents.
Political statistics has shown that out of the three Communities in SILGA Constituency 1 which are Amassoma, Otuan and Amatolo, only one community(Amassoma) has been representing them in the state House of Assembly for the past 20Years and more, leaving the other two communities as spectators of democracy. This has also denied Otuan and Amatolo communities of government presence and notable projects among others.
But today a great son from this constituency Otuan Community to be precised, Hon. Miebi Albert has made up his mind to run for the constituency seat in the state house of assembly to show to the world that the indigens of Otuan and Amatolo also has the wherewithal to occupy the Seat of SILGA 1.
Some times the first person to raise an eye brow on an issue may not benefit or have victory at the beginning of his or her agitations but one thing is paramount, the people need a change of Barton.
The good and God fearing people of Amassoma should in their own magnanimity put other advantageous political factors aside and give their fellow blood, friends, relatives and constituents the opportunity to represent them in 2019. It will not take anything away from them but will rather add to their good name as peace loving and caring people.
