CALL ON RELEVANT SECURITY AGENCIES TO INTERVENE, ADMONISH YOUTHS TO BE LAW ABIDING, SHUN CULTISM AND SOCIAL VIOLENCE
The Vice-chairman IYC Central Zone, Comr. Amiebi Turner in an address to Journalists today in Yenegoa, Strongly condemned the Insecurity state occasioned by the recent Opposition Cult war that has claimed the life of over Five Youths in the state.
He narrated that some Various syndicate groups known as: Greenlanders , Islanders and Bobos are at war in the state. Therefore, perpetrating violence, Killings and disrupting public peace currently in the state. He related the Killings at Agudama, Kolo town and Swali recently as a result the said Cult Clash and calls on Agencies such as the Police, DSS , Bayelsa State Vigilante Group and other conscience authorities to swing into action to ensure peace and order is restored.
" I urge all relevant Security agencies to restore law and order within the state and bring the ongoing cult war to a halt. They should as a matter of urgency investigate, identify, arrest and prosecute those persons related to the current Insecurity unrest in the state, as the IYC will not continue to be silent or condone such situations which speaks ill of other law abiding youths and our land in totality, the Ijaws are peaceful and lawful people , therefore, the security Agencies should be awake to wipe out those bad eggs currently disrupting the relative peace enjoyed since the inception of the Restoration Government led by H.E Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson" he stated.
However, he called on Ijaw Youths to Shun Cultism and other related violent activities aimed at debasing the value of the state, lives of the people and development in all sectors. He advised Youths to be law abiding and engage in meaningful ventures which will less the burden of underdevelopment, Youth restiveness, Cultism and Insecurity in the state ; to Further give room for Job creation, wealth, development and capacity building to meet the yearnings and aspirations of our Dream Bayelsa.
In his Further Remark, Turner decries the way and manner in which some members of the Leadership of the IYC Central Zone have been taciturn over issues as critical that consciences Security of Ijaw people, but will choose to vocal on Political matters and spreading propaganda to insight the public over some set of IYC executive members. " Despite all the blackmails and nicknaming adulterated against me and other members of the executive, i will not be deterred to advocate for all and sundry of Ijaw Youths irrespective of political divide, as Ijaw affairs and interest must be seen and addressed beyond political lenses" he stated.
Finally, he reacted on the Lingering Crisis rocking the zone, " On my part, We have made all necessary retractions and apologies to ensure peace in the zone, it is senseless to still hold grief having consulted and advised by respectable Ijaw Leaders and elders, but as a person who have aspired and holds the office of Vice-chairman IYC Central Zone, it is my duty ensure equity, fairness and respect for all Ijaw people which I will continue to uphold amidst all challenges bound" Turner said.
