BAYELSA COMMUNITY IN SOUTHERN-IJAW LGA CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL (FEIATEI UGE ) 49TH EDITION.

Anyama-Ijaw in Tarakiri Kingdom , is also regarded as the gateway to Southern-Ijaw and the Community has been witnessing rapid socio-economic development since the emergence of Hon Prince Doodei Week as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources Bayelsa State.
The Commissioner has led the way in taking the community and as well as the Kingdom to the next level by initiating various community development efforts including personally buildings and attracting the illustrious sons and daughters to their motherland for development.
The template set by Prince Doodei who has influenced the restoration government of Gov Dickson investment in the community development projects such as linking the community with Yenagoa-Oporoma,ultramodern health centres , Headmaster's lodge, rehabilitation of St.Paul Primary School I and II, 1600 low cost housing units and it it is worth to know that contractor is on site to link electricity to the community which has seen well-heeled citizens establishing businesses like relaxation centres, supermarkets, commercial farms, filling stations, private schools among others.
As it is the custom in other Ijaw community and towns, the Anyama-Ijaw Feiatei Uge is one of the most celebrated local fiestas in the traditional calendar of Anyama-Ijaw.This year’s edition was expanded and now christened Anyama-Ijaw International Festival It was celebrated for one week between 1st-8th August every year with the climax being the homage received by the Ebenanaowei of Tarakiri Kingdom HRM King George A Week from various groups, unions, associations and institutions in his kingdom.
The 49th Edition which was partly sponsored by a brewery featured prayers the commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Bayelsa state, Hon Prince Doodei Week ,alongside with Hon Perekeiokosu Benjamine , for peace and ranquility,cultural dances, all-night musical concert, Other features of the festival included traditional Tradional Wrestling love boat carnival, performance by Realkey Peres Concept.
This year’s edition was attended by the Chairman of Southern-Ijaw Local Government Council Chief Hon Kia Ebidoughebofa Nigeria , Hon Monday Obolo Edwind Bubo member represting Silga Constituency 2, Hon.Daniel Igali also member representing Silga Constituency 3,in the Bayelsa state house of Assembly, Ex-agitator Gen Urparasia Africa, Chief Timwei Timpa former Silga Chairman, Young Restoration Leadership coodinors in Southern-Ijaw and Women among others.Popular musician Ijaw son Grand Master Pereaama Freetwon , was at his best thrilling guests and residents alike with his brand of music.
In his remark ,the paramount ruler of Anyama-Ijaw Community, HRH Amen Sariki said the festival which is also known as (Feiatei Uge ) offers the indigenes at home and abroad to contribute to the growth of their community annually and as well
as sponsoring the festival for the purpose of exhibiting our cultural heritage.
As it was from the days of our ancestors, today is a day set aside by our forefathers to display rich culture of the community by a carnon sound and and as well as paying homage to King as his the grand finale of the annual festival.
