The Coordinator of Niger Delta Self Determination Movement Bayelsa State Chapter (NDSDM) and National Secretary Action Committee IYC Worldwide,Hon Oki Tony has commended the Restoration Government of Gov Dickson as preparation are underway to commission the international airport project on the 27th of August,2018. describing it as a key infrastructure that will attract oil and gas investments to the state.
Oki stated this while speaking with a media Analyst and a blog wirter Comr Elaye Igbian -warifagha Yagila aka Tarakiri Boy during a solidarity and inspection tour embarded upon by the National team of Niger Delta Self Determination Movement NDSDM at the airport site in Amasoma, Southern-Ijaw LGA on Wednesday .

Hon Oki Tony who commended the quality of works done so far, noted that the airport runway, which is three kilometers would be the first of its kind in Nigeria. He added that the project would contribute to the economic transformation of Bayelsa State if properly managed and linked to other developmental initiatives. “The right quality is being maintained and this can stand any airport of its kind in any part of this world.”
Speaking further, Oki called for more publicity on the airport project so that the private sectors, NGO's across the country would be aware. "NDSDM" everybody will think that it’s probably an airstrip that is being constructed. But we can see the quality of contractor being used here. This is Dantata and the company has done similar projects all over Nigeria. The state government needs to bring more people here and talk about it.”
The NDSDM is in support of the developmental projects of the Restoration Government of Dickson which is in line with the goals of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), which includes attracting investments to the Niger Delta region. This will help enthrone a favourable security climate that will allow for oil and gas operations to thrive.
Hon Oki also used this medium to applaud Gov. Dickson for the construction of Sagbama-Ekeremor road project wherein he has finally broken the jinx with construction of roads,which had opened up and linked the area with other parts of state , he also noted that Dickson administration was the brains behind the eventual completion of the Ogbia-Nembe Road in the eastern flank of the state.
Oki pleads with the law makers in representing Southern-Ijaw both state and federal to southern-Ijaw to collaborate with the state government to expedite more action on the completion of Yenagoa-Oporoma road that is leading to southern-Ijaw Local Govenment .
