Ahead the forthcoming Bayelsa State House of Assembly Election for Southern -Ijaw Constituency II the Peoples Democratic Party have been asked to think outside the box, but within democratic means, for the party to win the constituency in 2019.
Speaking to newsmen in Hon Seidougha Taribi Coordinator PDP frontier warned the party against distraction by persons pretending to be aspirants, yet lacked the capacity.
According to Taribi rather than subject the aspirants to strenuous primaries in which aspirants would expend resources and energy ahead the main election, advised that a consensus approach be adopted.
The group said having observed the capacity of the aspirants, it has zeroed in on Hon. Monday-Bubou Edwin Obolo , said the process would allow for concentration by the party’s aspirant towards channelling his energy on main election.
The group described Hon Monday-Bubou Edwin Obolo as having the support base that cuts across the political parties in the constituency.
The group said having observed the fallout of the Ekiti election, the undercurrent used by the APC, have no choice but to call that the PDP arrive at a consensus approach in which Hon.Obolo would best serve the party’s interest.
While it acknowledged that the Southern-Ijaw constituency II, Hon Monday-Bubou Edwin Obolo is the only qualified candidiate among the aspirants that can represent the people, however urged for sacrifice that would enable the PDP make the desired impact, towards it winner at governorship election of the state come 2020. he said.
