In line with Party policy, the leadership the Peoples Democratic Party of Bayelsa Central District ably led by tthe state party chairman Hon Moses Cleopas embarked on a consultative and thank you tour to the headquarters of Southern-Ijaw Consistuency 2,3 and 4, alongside with the standard bearers of the party for various electives positions, yesterday.
The aim of the tour was to commend the party executive's for their unflinching supports during the primary elections.also to represent the candidates to the electorates at the grassroots levels,The team first landed at Ukubie the headquarter of constituency 4 , later in Ekowe community the headquarther of Constituency 3, fianlly Oporoma Community the headquarter of constituency 2,which is headquarter of Southern-Ijaw Local Government Council. Thus the electorates come out enmass to receive the team and the candidates for the various elective position.
In a brief remark before formally presenting the candidates of the party to the electorates the Party's state Chairman, Hon Moses Cleopas, stated that, ahead of the timed campaign period the party thought it wise come back to the grassroots with a grateful heart."Varieties of political partys will come to present candidcates to you as we have just did, You should first scrutinize the candidates to ascertain if they provide the hallmarks for elective office". Moses expressed gratitude to the people for their sustained supports for the PDP and promised not to renege on its solemn promises.
Speaking further,Moses noted that, the candidates and standard bearers for various elective positions are individuals with political experiences also with proven integrity and proficiency.adding that, the tour is not for official campaign but a window to present the party's candidates for the various elective position to the electorates ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Prof Victor Turobeli, a lecturer of Niger Delta University and the Secretary to HRH Chief James Onboku Akpalakpala (X) the paramount ruler of Ukubie commends the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party for a notable interface with the grassroots for appreciating their continued faith, efforts and supports for the party.

Hon Douye Diri who is member of National Assembly representing the fabulous characters of Yelga/Kolga and also the senatorial candidate of the party for Bayelsa Central thanked the people for coming out in their numbers to the support PDP."With my wealth of experience i promise to draw the attention of the federal government to the grassroots if am given the mandate" Douye also pledges unbaise and quality representation through networking with the lawmakers of lower chamber and state lawmakers.The remarks of speaker the Bayelsa State of Assembly, Rt Dr. Konbowei Friday Benson who emerge as the party's candidate for House representative ,Southern-Ijaw Federal Constituency denotes the same message.
Speaking on behalf of the candidates for Bayelsa House of Assembly , for Silga Constituency 1,2,3, Hon Monday-Boubu Edwin Obolo who is a member of the Bayelsa state of House Assembly Silga Constituency II, and a standard bearer/candidate pledge to ensure that challenges facing the People of the Various constituencies would be given proper attention.Adding that they will network with both the state government and the federal lawmarkers to achieve one goal also would effect quality service through unbiased representation if voted into office come 2019. He also used the opportunity to applauded the leadership of the party at the constituency level for reconsolidating the party affairs in the recently concluded primary elections as well as record appreciative gains at the grassroot level, he said.
